Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Estes Park, CO. This district-wide position will involve providing speech and language therapy to approximately 50 students ranging from Pre-K to Transition (High School). The caseload will primarily focus on students with moderate to severe disabilities, including those with autism and other complex needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children of various ages and abilities, and be passionate about making a positive impact on students' communication and social skills.
Caseload/Details:
- District-Wide Position: Serve students across multiple schools within the district.
- 50 Students: Work with a caseload that includes Pre-K to High School (Transition).
- Mod/Severe Caseload: Support students with significant needs, including autism and other developmental challenges.
- Mixed Age Groups: Provide services for students across a wide age range, from preschool to high school students preparing for transition into adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech therapy services to students with communication and language disorders, including articulation, social communication, fluency, and language delays.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students' IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) and goals.
- Assess students' speech and language skills through comprehensive evaluations and observations.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to develop strategies and accommodations that support students' communication needs across environments.
- Provide therapy for students with moderate to severe disabilities, including autism, adapting materials and strategies for each students unique needs.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting goals and interventions as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input and recommendations based on students' progress and needs.
- Work with students on communication strategies to help them engage in academic, social, and functional activities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for speech therapy services.
- Provide training and support for school staff on best practices for supporting students' communication in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Colorado State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, including autism, in a school-based setting.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing IEPs for students with various communication challenges.
- Strong understanding of communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, and social communication.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques and materials for a wide range of developmental levels and needs.
- Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to working with children of various age groups and abilities.
- Strong organizational skills to track documentation and progress reports.
