We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Estes Park, CO. This district-wide position involves supporting students with a wide range of communication disorders, including moderate to severe needs, autism, and other developmental challenges. The caseload will include approximately 50 students ranging from Pre-K to Transition (High School). The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of school-based experience and familiarity with facilitating virtual learning for students.
Caseload/Details:
- District-Wide Position: Serve students across multiple schools within the district.
- 50 Students: Work with a caseload that includes students from Pre-K to High School (Transition).
- Mod/Severe Caseload: Focus on students with significant needs, including autism and other developmental challenges.
- Mixed Age Groups: Provide services for a broad age range, from preschool to transition-aged students.
- Virtual Learning Facilitator: Experience as a facilitator for virtual learning/teacher support is a must.
- School-Based Experience Required: At least 2 years of experience working in a school setting is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing direct speech therapy services to students with various communication disorders.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and goals based on the students' IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).
- Provide therapy for students with significant needs, including articulation, language delays, fluency, social communication, and auditory processing disorders.
- Work directly with students in small groups and one-on-one settings to address speech and language goals.
- Adapt therapy materials and strategies for students with moderate to severe disabilities, including autism.
- Assist in facilitating virtual learning environments, providing support for students participating in online sessions.
- Monitor and document student progress and provide regular updates to supervising SLPs.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support communication goals in the classroom and at home.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights about student progress and therapy needs.
- Provide support for classroom activities, including assisting with communication strategies and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on therapy sessions, progress notes, and other documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
- Current Colorado SLPA License.
- At least 2 years of school-based experience working with students in a therapeutic capacity.
- Experience as a Facilitator for Virtual Learning or providing online learning support is required.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, including autism.
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and communication strategies.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and therapy schedules.
