Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Occupational Therapists (OT) for a full-time position with school districts in the Las Cruces, NM area. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on the well-being and development of students while contributing to their overall educational success.
Position Overview
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be working with students who require assistance with daily living skills, fine motor skills, and other activities that help them function and succeed in the school environment. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to create and implement individualized treatment plans that cater to each student's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate students' physical, motor, and developmental skills.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help students improve their motor skills, coordination, and daily living abilities.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in one-on-one and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate therapeutic goals into the classroom and daily routines.
- Monitor and track student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide guidance and training to teachers and staff on how to support students therapeutic needs in the classroom.
- Document therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment outcomes.
- Attend IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to discussions about student goals and needs.
- Ensure students are safe and comfortable during therapy sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- Masters degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of New Mexico.
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet district-specific requirements.
