Position Overview:
As a School Psychologist in Lake Villa, you will play a pivotal role in assessing students' cognitive, emotional, and academic needs while providing direct interventions to foster their academic success. You will work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to create individualized plans to support students' growth and well-being. Whether its addressing behavioral challenges, offering counseling, or providing crisis intervention, you will be an integral part of the student support team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Psychological Assessments: Conduct psychoeducational assessments to evaluate students cognitive, emotional, and academic development.
- Behavioral and Emotional Support: Develop and implement interventions and strategies to support students facing behavioral, academic, and emotional challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure students receive the necessary support for their academic and personal success.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate counseling and support during times of crisis to help students regain emotional stability.
- Ongoing Professional Growth: Participate in professional development and stay current with the latest research and best practices in school psychology.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Masters degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field.
- Licensure: Active Illinois state licensure as a School Psychologist or eligibility for licensure in Illinois.
- Experience: Previous experience working with K-12 students, particularly in providing psychological support for those with emotional, behavioral, or academic needs, is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, and a student-centered approach to psychological services.
Position Details:
- Location: Onsite at schools in Lake Villa, IL, within a supportive and progressive school district.
- Employment Type: Full-time, W-2 employee status.
- Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Caseload: Work with students across Kindergarten through 12th grade, providing tailored interventions and support.
