Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate School Social Worker to join our team in Palatine, IL! In this impactful role, you will provide emotional, social, and behavioral support to K-12 students, helping them overcome challenges and succeed both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities:
- Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with emotional, social, or behavioral difficulties. Help students develop coping strategies, manage stress, and resolve conflicts.
- Assessment & Intervention: Assess the emotional and social needs of students, create individualized intervention plans, and monitor their progress toward achieving their goals.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with teachers, school administrators, and families to coordinate care and ensure a unified approach to student support. Participate in team meetings to provide insights and recommendations.
- Crisis Response: Respond swiftly to student crises, providing immediate emotional support and working with the team to implement long-term strategies.
- Mental Health Advocacy: Advocate for mental health awareness and social-emotional learning (SEL) within the school environment. Support initiatives that promote overall student wellness and emotional health.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in School Social Work or a related field.
- Licensure: Valid School Social Worker license in Illinois or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience: Experience working with K-12 students in a school or mental health setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, crisis management experience, and a passion for helping students succeed.
